TROUPE HISTORY

A trio of dancers and best friends, some from Virginia and some from New Hampshire, formed The Celtic Gypsies Dance Troupe™ one brutally hot VA summer when they were pulled onstage to perform with one of Celtic music's most popular bands, Gaelic Storm. (Best known for their part as the steerage party band in the ’98 film Titanic). Inspired by the audience’s enthusiasm and interest in their dancing, they soon began to organize their ideas and bring the dance troupe to life. Out of it all emerged “Celtic Fusion™",
a new and exciting dance form.

From 2005 to 2007, Celtic Gypsies remained a trio, and enjoyed numerous performances at many venues from Texas to Vermont.

2007 brought many new changes for the Gypsies, both professionally and personally. They invited talented dancers, Nikki, Sara, and Heather to join their troupe. In 2007, Meaghan was married and took a brief hiatus form the dance word. Shortly after, Sara was married as well.

In 2008, it was time for yet another marriage, this time being Kristen's turn!. Kristen is now a proud mom.

Since 2005, Celtic Gypsies would travel several hundred miles to be together for performances as a troupe. Which was a lot of fun, but obviously tricky on everyone's wallet and schedule!
2009 brought about the desicion to branch out into two separate troupes: one being based out of Virginia, and the other in New Hampshire.Currently, Celtic Gypsies is a duo, made up of its two original founders, who are also sisters, Meaghan and Brynn.

Our different personalities, our different strengths and weaknesses, bond together to make one powerful fusion of talents. We delight in what the future holds, for both our troupe as well as Kristen's new troupe, and hope to share the fun with others and see what dusty path it leads our gypsy caravan.
