Born and raised in the DC area, Brynn had the wonderful opportunity to see multiple performances of Off Broadway productions growing up. The performing arts have always been an important part of Brynn's life ever since her parents took her to see her first professional theatre performance of "Cats" at age 2. After that, she knew that she wanted to be part of that world. She started taking theatre when she was 10 at a local community theatre and fell in love with it. Since then Brynn has worked in numerous productions, both on and off stage and in high school joined her school's Improv Team (Theatre Games, like from the TV show "Who's Line is it Anyways") and competed against other schools in the area. In 2005 Brynn started to explore the behind the scenes side of theatre and realized that the technical side was more challenging, dangerous, and above all..more fun then being on stage! Brynn now does mostly back stage work and is working on becoming a professional Stage Manager and would love to work with a touring company one day. She is also the sound girl for her fellow Troupe Mate and sister, Meaghan's band The Whiskey Wagon. Brynn was awarded the Star Award in 2006 for numerous performances with Encore Stage and Studio, and was nominated for a Cappies Award (equivalent of a Tony Award for high school theatre students) for her costumes in 2007.
Brynn always loved dance growing up and thought that it was a beautiful art form; but never knew which one was a right fit for her. In 2000 she started taking Jazz lessons at a local studio; unfortunately it was not the best experience for her, and therefore decided to give it up after only a year. The following year she began taking an interest in Middle Eastern dance style after seeing a Belly-Dancer perform at a faire. Bells went off in her head and it seemed Brynn had found her dance style and started doing research into it. She started learning Irish and Highland step dance to accompany the Middle Eastern and in the summer of 2005, The Celtic Gypsies started! Since then dance has become a very large part of her life and now contributes to a lot of the choreography for all of the Celtic Gypsies performances. Along the road she has begun to study Ballet, Swing, Modern, and Lyrical. One of her favorites styles now is Free Form; just clearing your mind and letting the music move you to where you want to go. Though she has performed by herself on occasion, Brynn prefers and loves it when her sister Meaghan is by her side. Since the Gypsies started she has had the honor to perform onstage with: The Rogues, E Museki, The Rovers and Gypsophilia.
When she is not performing with the troupe, you can find her busy with one of her many other passions such as: knitting, reading, being in the outdoors, taking photos, attending Ren Faires, enjoying a nice cup of coffee with friends, and having the occasional Firefly and Serenity marathon. ; -)
Brynn would like to thank God for all that he has provided for her, without him there would be no light. Other people she would like to thank is her family for supporting her artsy side, and her mentors that influenced her theatre path: Susan Keady, Laurel Summerfild and Rip Claassen. Love and Peace, and God bless!
